KMPlayer in Action
All shots are taken with MPlayer's x11 video driver
KMPlayer
Simple video application, launched from Konqueror on this page
KMPlayer embedded in a HTML page
Split objects for video, controlpanel and statusbar when choosing the real stream. The statusbar is new in version 0.9.1.
Note (for dutch viewers), this embedded video on uitzendinggemist.nl only works if choosing a Mozilla/Netscape browser identification.
If you enable 'Click to Play', some movies on the web will start with an image first. This image is stored in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmplayer
as 00000001.jpg
.
Browser plugin support
You can paste the content of the embed field of a
YouTube movie in the XML of the
playlist and KMPlayer turns this in a play item for the browser plugin
player (npp) after syncing with the playlist.
Note that in order to let KMPlayer play flash in HTML pages, you should
make the KMPlayer plugin the service provider for the
application/x-shockwave-flash
mimetype in KDE's
File Associations configuration dialog.
KMPlayer viewing VDR
Up/down/back/ok/menu VDR keys are added to the toolbar, so are the four color buttons to the controlpanel. However, you probably want to configure all VDR keys in the 'Configure Shortcuts' dialog.
Note: this picture is manipulated, because it's not possible to make screenshots with XVideo.
KMPlayer embedded in Konqueror
The controlpanel is auto hidden when embedded. Moving the mouse near the bottom shows it like in this screenshot.
You may need QuickTime dll's from the MPlayer site for this mov file to get audio too.

Science or fiction :-)
Miscellaneous
KMPlayer's controlpanel handles inverted widget colors nicely. However, it will only apply on newly created windows.
The "Show all" feature, for XML like playlist files, is new in 0.9.0-pre series.
